Small Water Damage From Toilet Overflow

Sewer backups are a type of water damage homeowners need to be prepared for. This water damage was caused by a younger child putting a toy car into the toilet which cause it to overflow. The toilet water spread onto the carpeted basement floor. Since the toilet water is considered category 3, grossly contaminated, that are of the affected carpet needed to come out. SERVPRO of Orange, Sullivan & S. Ulster Counties disinfected the area so that the homeowners felt comfortable allowing their toddler go back down into the basement. Hopefully the toddler will not decide to put a toy car down the toilet again.
